The Situation

A large e-commerce company’s HRIS department experienced employee turnover during the middle of the busy year-end tax season, specifically among team members handling ACA reporting. And with new state requirements being introduced in California, New Jersey, and Rhode Island, the HRIS team felt under pressure to understand exactly what was needed and meet set deadlines, all within a tight turnaround time.

The Solution

CIC Plus worked with the e-commerce company to guide them through the entire ACA reporting process, including state ACA requirements. Through our Workday Built integration, CIC Plus printed and mailed 1095-C statements to their employees. CIC Plus also provided step-by-step instructions for the preparation and delivery of state-required ACA statements, including California requirements which is where they have a large employee population. The CIC Plus support team provided links to appropriate state websites, directions regarding data the HRIS team needed to gather, and then prepared the datafiles required for each state. With new states, like California, introducing new ACA requirements, the process was overwhelming for the HRIS department. The CIC Plus team went the extra mile to ensure they knew exactly what they needed to do at every step of the way, even providing screenshots on how to gather and transfer data from Workday to CIC Plus.
